¶ What does it look like
The error code generally occurs when the print head is being heated or a model being printed.
¶ Fault Causes
- The extruder communication cable is damaged (Type-C cable)
- The pin of the heating adpater board is damaged
- The cable of the heating PCB port is loose
- The ceramic heating plate is damaged
¶ Tools necessary for toubleshooting
- A 2.5 mm Allen key
- A multimeter
¶ Troubleshooting steps
¶ Step 1 - Check whether the extruder communication cable
- Set the nozzle temperature to 200°C via the touchscreen.
- Manually move the extruder left/right and forward/backward, and check whether Error Code 103 appears on the touchscreen.
- If error 103 only occurs when moving the extruder, replace the extruder communication cable with a new one.
- If error 103 does not appear, continue with further troubleshooting according to Step 2.
¶ Step 2 - Re-plug the cable of the heating PCB port
- Power off the printer. Press the lever of the filament cutter backward to cut off the filament. Lift the front cover of the printing head to remove it.
- Unplug the port of the ribbon cables of the model cooling fan.
- Use a 2.5 mm Allen wrench to loosen the 2 screws securing the printing head assembly.
- Re-plug the cable of the ceramic heating plate port and check the pin of the fuse. (The figure below shows the normal pin.)
- Power on the printer. Set the temperature of the print head to 220 ℃. Check if the error still occurs.
¶ Step 3 - Check the resistance value of the ceramic heating plate using a multimeter
Adjust the multimeter to the "Ω" gear. Check the resistance of the two pins of the ceramic heating plate fuse. The normal resistance is about 10Ω.
If the resistance value is abnormal, replace a new ceramic heating plate.
