Operation steps
- Use a 4.0mm Allen wrench to remove the two screws securing the Z-axis top cover and take off the cover.
- Use a 2.5mm Allen wrench to remove the two screws securing the anti-backlash nut of the motor lead screw.
(Note: When removing the last screw, hold the connecting arm with one hand and slowly release it to prevent sudden drops and potential damage to the components.)
- Put on gloves and click on “Tool -> Manual -> Up.” While the Z-axis moves upward, hold the anti-backlash nut with your hand and remove it at the top.
- Use a 2.0mm Allen wrench to remove the four screws securing the machine’s back cover and take off the cover.
- Disconnect the following cables in order: (1) Motor cable, (2) Limit switch cable, (3) Air purifier USB cable.
- Peel off the adhesive tape securing the LCD screen ribbon cable (keep the tape for reuse later), flip open the locking cover of the ribbon cable connector on the motherboard and remove the cable.
- Use a 2.0mm Allen wrench to remove the ten screws securing the machine’s middle plate, and remove the entire plate.
- Remove the middle plate, ensuring not to pull and damage the connected cables underneath.
- Use a 2.5mm Allen wrench to remove the two screws securing the lead screw motor, and take out the motor.
(Note: Keep the slider within the guide rail while operating to prevent the ball bearings from dislodging and affecting its functionality.)
- Disconnect the motor cable and use a 2.5mm Allen wrench to remove the two screws securing the motor damping pad.
- Take the new lead screw motor and place the damping pad on the motor from above. Use a 2.5mm Allen wrench to fasten the two screws securing the damping pad, and reconnect the motor cable.
- Reinstall the motor and use a 2.5mm Allen wrench to tighten the two screws securing it.
- Align the middle plate with the screw holes and use a 2.0mm Allen wrench to tighten the ten screws securing it.
- Insert the LCD screen ribbon cable back into the connector on the motherboard, close the locking cover, and secure it with tape.
- Reconnect the following cables in order: (1) Motor cable, (2) Limit switch cable, (3) Air purifier USB cable.
- Reinstall the back cover and use a 2.0mm Allen wrench to tighten the screws securing it.
- Reinstall the anti-backlash nut and use a 2.5mm Allen wrench to tighten the two screws securing it.
- Reinstall the Z-axis top cover and use a 4.0mm Allen wrench to tighten the two screws securing it.
- Use a brush to evenly apply lithium-based lubricating grease to the lead screw. Click on “Tool -> Manual -> Home” to move the Z-axis up and down, distributing the lubricating grease along the shaft.
