PHECDA Engraving with LaserGRBL Software

Precautions and Machine state before starting operation
The equipment is intact, placed horizontally, the environment is well-ventilated, and there are no flammable or explosive items around.
Operation guide
Step 1-Insert the round plug of the 24V power cord and the square end of the USB cable into the corresponding interface of PHECDA.

Step 2-Insert the other end of the USB cable into the USB port of the computer.

Step 3 - Turn on the PHECDA power switch

Step 4-Adjust the focus
1. Move the X-axis laser head directly above the engraved object and remove the X-axis magnetic shading plate.

2.Put down the focus positioning bar, loosen the hand-twist screws that fix the laser head, and let the laser head fall naturally by gravity.
|
3.When the focus positioning bar of the laser head touches the wooden board and stops, tighten the hand-twist screws that fix the laser, and then retract the focus positioning bar.
|
4.Reinstall the X-axis magnetic shading plate and the focus adjustment is completed.
|
Step 5 - Install the "Putty&ch340" driver
Open the supplied USB flash drive and find the driver "DRVSETUP64" according to the path USB Driver\Windows_USB_Driver\CH340G_USB Driver\ (You can also download it from the official website). Double-click to install it, and click "INSTALL" on the pop-up interface to start the installation. When the pop-up window displays "Driver install success!" means the installation is successful. Click "OK" and then close the window and exit.

Step 6-Check the COM port number of the "CH340" driver
Open the device manager "Computer Management" - "Device Manager" - "Ports (COM&LPT)" to find the COM port corresponding to the "CH340" driver (the COM port is determined according to the actual situation).

Step 7 - Open the LaserGRBL software. If you need to use the Chinese interface, click "Language" and select "Chinese (simplified)". After clicking, the software will automatically restart and switch to the Chinese interface (The language can be selected according to your own needs).

Step 8 - Select COM3 for the serial port COM, select 115200 for the baud rate (Baud), click the "Connect" icon, and when a blue "using machine" prompt appears in the below information bar, it means that the software and PHECDA are successfully connected.

Step 9 - Click the icon below to control the up, down, left and right movement of the device and set the speed and stroke of a single movement.

Step 10-Set the origin and turn on the laser (the origin position can be set according to actual needs)
Move the laser head to the middle of the Y-axis, click the globe icon to set the origin, and then click the laser icon to turn on the laser.

Step 11 - Click "File" - "Open File" in the upper left corner of the LaserGRBL software. Double-click to select the ELEGOO icon file in the pop-up window (You can select your own engraving file, and it supports SVG, DXF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIF and other format files).

Step 12-Adjust parameters such as Brightness, Contrast, whiteClip, B&W, etc., adjust the image engraving effect, and click "NEXT" to proceed to the next step.

Step 13 - Set the laser parameters (parameters can be set according to the different engraving materials, taking basswood board as an example)
In the pop-up laser parameter window, set the laser speed "Engraving Speed" to 6000, the minimum power "S-MIN" to 10, the maximum power "S-MAX" to 600, the size "SIZE" of width "W" and height "H" to 161 and 30 respectively, and then click "Create" to create the engraving project.

Step 14-Click the triangle button to start the engraving project. When a pop-up window prompts you to wear goggles, please wear the goggles and click "Start" to start engraving.

Step 15 - Engraving Complete
During the engraving process, please wear protective goggles to observe the engraving situation. Do not touch or leave the machine during the working process to prevent accidents. After the engraving is completed, please turn off the power and turn off the laser.

Precautions
1. When the laser head starts working, please wear laser goggles to protect your eyes.
2. Please keep the working area of the machine flat and clean. Do not place flammable objects near the machine. Residues accumulated during cutting and engraving must be cleaned regularly to prevent fires.
3. Do not engrave or cut any unknown materials. The vaporization or melting of many materials will release harmful fumes and cause personal injury.
4. Do not leave the machine unattended, as it may cause a fire.
5. Ensure that the space is well-ventilated when operating the machine so that the machine can exhaust fumes properly.
6. The machine contains high-speed running parts, so be careful not to pinch your hands.
7. This product is not suitable for children to use alone and should be operated with the supervision of a guardian, and take appropriate protection to avoid personal injury.
8. In case of emergency, please turn off the power directly.
