¶ When to Replace Cooling Fans
If the cooling fans are damaged, unable to rotate normally, or producing noise, it is necessary to replace the cooling fans with new ones.
¶ Tools and Materials
- A 2.0 mm Allen wrench
- A pair of diagonal pliers
- Two strip of cable ties
- A Phillips screwdriver
- A new motherboard cooling fan
- A new motor driver cooling fan
- A new power supply cooling fan

¶ Precautions and Machine Status Before Operation
This operation involves replacing cooling fans and disconnecting the wiring. Ensure all necessary precautions are taken before disassembling. Turn off the machine and disconnect the power supply.
¶ Instruction
- Power off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Loosen the 2 screws securing the PEI limit block on the right front and rear of the printer using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench, and then remove the PEI limit block.
- Unplug the ribbon cables connected to the adapter board on the right rear of the printer.
- Loosen the 8 screws securing the power box cover using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench.
- Slide the power box cover towards the heat bed from below, and then lift the outer side of the power box cover and remove it.
¶ Replace the motherboard cooling fan
- Cut the cable ties securing the ribbon cables using a pair of diagonal pliers and unplug the ribbon cables from the FAN0 port on the motherboard.
- Loosen the 4 screws securing the motherboard cooling fan using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench and remove the old motherboard cooling fan.
- Prepare the new motherboard cooling fan, and put it in the installation position by aligning it with the screw holes. Tighten the 4 securing screws using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench.
- Plug the ribbon cables of the motherboard cooling fan into the FAN0 port on the motherboard and secure the ribbon cables.
¶ Replace the motor driver cooling fan
- Unplug the ribbon cables from the VIN0 port on the motherboard.
- Loosen the 4 screws securing the motor driver cooling fan using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench and remove the old motor driver cooling fan.
- Prepare the new motor driver cooling fan. Put it in the installation position by aligning it with the screw holes. Tighten the 4 securing screws using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench.
- Plug the ribbon cables of the motor driver cooling fan into the VIN0 port on the motherboard.
¶ Replace the power supply cooling fan
- Cut the cable ties securing the ribbon cables using a pair of diagonal pliers.
- Loosen the screws securing the ribbon cables on the power port using a Phillips screwdriver and remove the ribbon cables of the power supply cooling fan.
- Loosen the 4 screws securing the power supply cooling fan using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench and remove the old power supply cooling fan.
- Prepare the new power supply cooling fan, and put it in the installation position by aligning it with the screw holes. Tighten the 4 securing screws using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench.
- Plug the ribbon cables of the fan into the power port based on the principle of "red positive(+) and black negative(-)". Tighten the screws securing the ribbon cable using a Phillips screwdriver.
- Secure each ribbon cable using cable ties.
- Prepare the power box cover. Place the power box cover on its inner side of to put it under the heat bed. Slide the power box cover to the installation position by aligning it with the screw holes.
- Note: Tidy up the ribbon cables connected to the adapter board on the right rear of the printer. Do not leave the ribbon cables under the power box cover.
- Tighten the 8 screws securing the power box cover using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench. (Long screws are fixed on the front and back side, and the short screws are fixed on the right side.)
- Plug the ribbon cables into the adapter board on the right rear of the printer according to the label information.
- Put the PEI limit block in the installation position and tighten the two screws securing the PEI limit block on the right front and rear of the printer using a 2.0 mm Allen wrench.
- Plug in the power cord and power on the printer.
- Touch "Prepare-all (Home button)" on the touchscreen. The printer returns to zero. After the printer can work normally, click "PLA" to heat the nozzle and hotbed.
