During primnting, the filament sticks to the nozzle and hotend suface.

- The first layer of the model detaches from the build plate surface.
- The sliced model file does not add supports. The model has suspension and the area where the model adheres to the build plate is small.
- The nozzle or the heat break is loose.
Tools needed for troubleshooting
- 2.0 mm Allen key x 1
- 2.5 mm Allen key x 1
- A pair of pliers
- Dryer x 1
- Turn the power switch ON (symbol “|”).
- Check the hotend temperature on the touch screen.
If the termperature is room temperature, it indicates that the function of the thermistor are in normal condition. Refer to Step 2 for further troubleshooting.
If the termperature remaines below zero, it indicates that the thermistor may be defected. Refer to Step 3 for further troubleshooting.
¶ Step 2 Heat the hotend and remove the blobs from the hotend surface.
- Unplug the cable of the rear cooling fan assembly.
- Loosen the three screws securing the rear cooling fan assembly with a 2.5mm Allen key.

- Loosen the six screws securing the extruder with a 2.0mm Allen key.

-%E5%B7%B2%E7%BF%BB%E8%AF%9112.91266.png)
- Remove the extruder and put it on the heated bed.
- On the touch screen, set the hotend temperature to 200 ℃.
-%E5%B7%B2%E7%BF%BB%E8%AF%9112.91378.png)
- After it reaches to 200 ℃, turn the power switch OFF (symbol "O").
- Remove the blob with a pair of pilers from the hotend and nozzle surface.

After removing the blob, reintsall the hotend and tighten the nozzle. Then, re-level the printer and reset the Z offset value. And the printer is ready for use.

¶ Step 3 Remove the blob and replace a new thermistor
- Remove the hotend.
- Heat the hotend with a dryer to soften the blob.
- Remove the blob.
- Replace the old thermistor with a new one.
Note:
- Do not blow hot air onto the extruder housing when heating the hotend, as this may cause deformation of the extruder housing.

- The thermistor specifications for Neptune 4 & Neptune 4 Pro are: NTC100K high temperature resistant thermistor (300 ℃), φ3*10-L85mm, with 2-pin pH 2.0 terminal.
- Do not leave your printer until the first five layers are complete.
- Preview your slicing software to check if the path of the gcode file is reasonable via the preview interface of the slicing software. For example, check if the model is suspended without support, or if the contact area between the model and the heated bed is too small.
