ELEGOO Neptune is ELEGOO FDM 3D printers which uses plastic threads to create 3D objects. To do this, it needs a digital design file, usually with a .stl or .obj extension, which contains the 3D model of the object.
Before printing, a program called a slicer processes the .stl (.obj) file. In this case, we use Cura. The slicer breaks the 3D model into thin layers and turns it into instructions, known as G-code, which the printer can follow.
The G-code tells the printer how to move to create each layer of the object. It also includes details like the right temperature for the plastic and the speed at which to print. Sometimes, the slicer adds extra supports to help print tricky parts that hang in the air.
Once the G-code is ready, it's sent to the printer, which follows the instructions to build the object layer by layer. After printing, you might need to do some extra work like removing supports or giving the object a nice finish.
