¶ Fault Symptoms
The touch screen displays the following error message:
“Nozzle front cover detached.”
¶ Possible Cause
After installing CANVAS, some users may continue to use the old version of the tool head front cover. Because the detection structures of the new and old versions are different, the printer may be unable to correctly detect whether the front cover is properly installed when the old version is used.
- The new tool head front cover has a magnet that works with the printer's front cover detection sensor.
- The tool head front cover detection sensor detects the magnet to determine whether the front cover is properly installed.
- The old tool head front cover does not have a magnet, which may trigger the “Nozzle front cover detached.” error.
¶ Troubleshooting Steps
¶ Remove the Tool Head Front Cover
- Remove the tool head front cover from the tool head.
- Disconnect the fan extension cable connector from the tool head front cover.
¶ Check the Tool Head Front Cover Version
- Check whether the tool head front cover has a magnet.
- With a magnet: New tool head front cover
- Without a magnet: Old tool head front cover
- The following image shows the difference between the old and new tool head front covers.
- The new tool head front cover has a magnet that works with the printer's front cover detection sensor.
¶ Recommended Solution
If CANVAS is installed but the old tool head front cover is being used:
- Replace the old tool head front cover with the new version.
- Make sure the tool head front cover is properly installed.
- Reconnect the fan extension cable connector.
- Restart the printer and check whether the error message disappears.
If the new tool head front cover is being used but the error message persists:
- Make sure the tool head front cover is fully installed.
- Make sure the magnet is not loose or missing and is positioned correctly.
- Check whether there are any foreign objects around the tool head front cover detection sensor.
- Check whether the related connectors and cables are securely connected.
